I know, I know, I'm sorry

I'm sorry I haven't been around lately. We've been crazy busy with work and working on Bumpalot. We made a trip to San Diego in there, too.

Bumpalot looks really quite amazing--the difference is wonderful. Mostly just paint and cleaning. We are really beginning to love it, despite its major problems.

  • The gutters need to be fixed before winter. They're plastic and jointed and coming apart at the joints.
  • The bathroom shower tile is unglazed, and the grout is not sealed. It is both coming out, and, worse than that, leaking through the drywall. That's right, drywall, not greenboard, which is supposed to be used in bathrooms. Top that off with the fact that on the other side of the wall that the shower in the master bathroom is on, there is a piece of furnace filter stuffed into a hole (crack) which goes straight into the garage. Nothing like a little carbon monoxide poisoning! Also, you can see the back of the drywall and how wet it is. in that space.
  • The back of the house needs re-grading so that water doesn't run into the foundation.
  • The floor in the utility room is warped, and will need to be pulled up and replaced.
These are the major things that need addressing, which probably won't all happen before we shut down for winter. But still, the colors are turning, and there's something so satisfying about curling up with a book and some cocoa and watching the storm clouds roll over the mountain and the rain a-coming. We are happy we bought it and we can't wait for you to come and share it with us.
